Our first stop once we arrived in the city was our hotel. We stayed at the Warwick Hotel in Midtown. It's an historic hotel and despite what you hear about NYC hotel rooms being tiny, we had a large, very nice room. Our room looked out over 6th Ave. I booked on Priceline and got a great deal.
Our next stop in NYC was the new Yankee Stadium. We saw the Yankees play the Houston Astros. The game was not very exciting but it was fun to walk around in the stadium and see everything. Our opinion about the new stadium, which won't be popular with New Yorkers, is that its no better than any of the other new baseball stadiums we've been to. Sorry Yankee fans.
On Saturday morning, we did a tour called Real New York Tours. I found this tour on tripadvisor.com. It was the #1 rated tour in NYC and it was great. We went on the dozen apples tour, which meant we were in a group of 12 with 1 tour guide for 6 hours. The tour was wonderful and we again were exhausted. This tour took us to a lot of places and we learned alot about NYC that you wouldn't learn in other tours. I highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting NYC.
High Line Park. It's a park that has been built along some old abandoned rail tracks. It was very nice in the middle of the city.
This is the infamous Pier 54 that was built for the Titanic. It went unused for a long time and then they decided to use it for the Lusitania, which also sank. It is considered cursed and no boat has ever docked here.
The front of the NY Stock Exchange.
On Saturday night, Lance and I had dinner and saw a Broadway Show. We saw Wicked, the most wonderful show on Broadway! After the show, we walked down to Times Square to take some pictures with the lights all on. I know they call NY the city that never sleeps, but I was still shocked at how many people were on Times Square at 11pm.
On Sunday morning before we left to come home, we took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry. We knew we wouldn't have time to go to the Statue of Liberty and the Staten Island Ferry was the best way to get a good look at it for free. Plus it was fun to ride .
